Boston indie label debuts as ERA grows in Denver
A new Boston indie brokerage launches with $150M in sales expertise, offering buyer, seller, and property management services in eastern Massachusetts.

An independent residential brokerage launched this week in Greater Boston, founded by a husband-and-wife team with a combined $150 million in career sales.
New Englander Real Estate opened under the ownership of Kate Ziegler Romano and Jack Romano, both longtime Massachusetts brokers. The company offers buyer and seller representation alongside property management services across eastern Massachusetts.
Local expertise with a long-term focus
Kate Ziegler Romano has over a decade of experience representing buyers and sellers. Her husband, a licensed broker, has worked in residential and multifamily transactions, renovations, and rental properties. He will oversee the brokerage’s property management division.
The couple designed the business to support clients beyond the initial sale. Services include managing homes, handling renovations, and maintaining long-term relationships. Expansion will remain modest, with new agents added only if they share the brokerage’s focus on local knowledge.
“Launching our brokerage is something we’ve considered for many years,” Kate Ziegler Romano said. “It will let us provide the guidance we’d want for our own homes.”
ERA expands in Denver with women-led affiliate
Success Realty Experts, a Denver-based brokerage founded in 2023, has joined ERA Real Estate’s network. The company will operate as Success Realty Experts ERA POWERED while retaining its local brand.
Jennifer Briseno, a 17-year industry veteran and Colorado native, leads the firm. It serves buyers, sellers, and investors in Denver and nearby cities like Boulder, Aurora, and Castle Rock. The affiliation provides agents access to ERA’s training programs, marketing tools, and technology platforms, including MoxiWorks and Canva Enterprise.

Briseno said the partnership keeps the brokerage’s personalized service while offering additional resources. Plans for the next year include recruiting, mergers, and a new physical office.
“As we planned our next phase of growth, we wanted a brand that shared our values while providing industry-leading resources,” she said.
The move aligns with a trend of regional brokerages seeking national partnerships. A shift toward these partnerships shows how smaller companies adapt to compete. The Romanos’ firm and Success Realty Experts both prioritize local connections, though their strategies differ. One remains fully independent, while the other leverages a national network.
