Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort Opens September 2027

Wynn Resorts has set a firm opening date for its Al Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah, aiming to welcome guests in September 2027. The milestone provides the clearest timeline yet for the United Arab Emirates’ first integrated gaming complex.

Project scale and investment

The $5.1 billion development, valued at AED 18.7 billion, is a joint effort between Wynn Resorts, Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. The company reported that it has poured more than $1 billion into the venture, with a $48.1 million contribution in the second quarter of 2026 alone. That cash outlay brings the total to $1.06 billion, keeping the project on track for its slated debut.

Features and facilities

When finished, the resort will host 1,530 rooms, suites and residences. Among the offerings are 297 Enclave suites, two Royal Apartments, four Garden Townhomes and ten Marina Estates. Dining options will total 22 venues, spanning restaurants, lounges and bars. A 145,000‑square‑foot meetings and events centre and a 15,000‑square‑meter luxury retail promenade are also planned.

The beachfront site will include 420 metres of private white‑sand beach and regulated gaming facilities, marking the first commercial gaming licence granted by the UAE General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.

Construction has entered its final phase. The main tower is already topped out, while façade work, interior fit‑out and mechanical systems continue across the property. Supporting infrastructure, such as the 548‑metre Wynn Bridge, will link the resort to the E311 and E611 highways.

Jobs will multiply quickly.

Wynn also plans an employee community dubbed Oasis, designed to house more than 7,000 staff members. The complex aims to finish Oasis before the resort opens, helping the company recruit, train and ready its workforce. Food and beverage hiring alone is expected to generate over 3,500 jobs for the 22 dining outlets.

From a practical standpoint, the new resort could reshape employment patterns in Ras Al Khaimah. Local workers may find a range of roles, from hospitality to technical support, without needing to relocate far from home. The influx of visitors could also boost ancillary businesses, such as transport and retail, that serve tourists.

Strategic importance for UAE tourism

CEO Craig Billings highlighted the project’s role in diversifying the portfolio, noting that construction is moving at a rapid pace. He described the resort as “the most exciting integrated resort to be developed in over a decade.” The development is positioned as a cornerstone of Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism strategy, combining luxury accommodation, entertainment, dining, meetings, retail, waterfront attractions and regulated gaming in a single destination.

Industry observers have watched the project closely, noting that it represents one of the largest tourism investments ever made in the emirate. The September 2027 opening date is the most specific launch guidance the company has provided to date, suggesting confidence in the schedule despite the scale of the undertaking.
